Lantana is a perennial shrub that is available in many colors; their blooms also attract some species of butterflies. Lantana has a viny/ sprawling growth habit and should be cut back when it appears too leggy to encourage compact, thick growth. Lantana can reach a height and width of 5ft but can be trimmed to a maintained size of 2ft. Once established, Lantana is somewhat drought tolerant but will produce more flowers when watered regularly. Lantana can tolerate salty air, making them a good option for gardens near the ocean. Lantana does not require much fertilizer when planted in the ground; however, apply a good quality slow-release fertilizer when the plant appears dull.
