I bought three plants and monarch butterflies (and caterpillars) are in a constant chain of eating the plants down to sticks, the plants grow back and days later I notice they’re covered in dozens of monarch caterpillars. They munch them down again and the cycle continues. I plan to buy more plants and have them scattered through my yard. The butterflies seem to love these and knowing this native plant helps the butterflies is a plus. Everything I have bought from the nursery has been well-established plants. The workers know a lot about where to plant and when. The milkweed are good healthy plants and by planting them I am doing a small part to help nature. It feels good.
