Foxtail fern is a tough and reliable evergreen that features soft pine needle textured foliage. Occasionally foxtail ferns produce small intricate white flowers followed by bright red berries. Foxtail ferns have tuberous roots making them reasonably drought tolerant. Foxtail ferns are very low maintenance only an occasional trim of dead stems. Foxtail ferns make good filler plants as they can grow in almost any setting in mixed garden beds, they also do well in containers.
