Porterweed is an evergreen Perennial in South Florida and is an excellent addition to butterfly gardens. Porterweed produces small blue flowers which bud from long slender spikes; it blooms off and on most of the year but mainly during the warmer months (summer – Fall). Porterweed will tolerate poor-quality soil but benefits from an application of good-quality granular fertilizer twice per year (Spring & Fall). Porterweed looks best in a mixed planting bed.
